Job Description

Topsider Building Systems, Inc., designer and fabricator of high-end, custom post and beam residential homes and light commercial structures sold and shipped worldwide since 1968, seeks a highly motivated individual for its Design & Technical Services Department. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE WORK POSITION .

Education:  

• Degree in architectural design or related technical field. (License not necessary).

Experience: 

• Minimum 5 years of experience in residential and/or light commercial architectural design, working directly with clients. 

Misc. Qualifications:

• Candidates must be highly computer literate, have excellent communications skills (verbal and written), and able to competently work with engineers and building officials throughout the country. 
• Knowledge of building codes in general and coastal construction criteria involving elevated structures and wind-loading issues is a plus. THERE IS NO TRAVEL REQUIRED .

Hours: 

• As an important member of the Company, this position requires the successful candidate to be available when needed to meet deadlines, attend important meetings and interface with various managers and clients, some of which may be on Saturdays and early evenings.

Responsibilities:

• Meet with clients, sales department, project managers and others to develop the residential and light commercial structure designs the Company sells. 
• Work closely with the CADD Manager to coordinate and organize the production of architectural drawings and shop details for client jobs.
• Coordinate efforts with outside consulting engineers, building officials, and others, including some contract relationships.

• Based upon experience and qualifications.
