Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in La Quinta, California is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.
Position Overview:
Play a key role in all aspects of daily golf operations, including instruction, tournament coordination, merchandising, and member services. This is a valuable opportunity to gain experience in a top-tier private club setting while contributing to a culture of hospitality, professionalism, and excellence.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Deliver Exceptional Daily Golf Operations: Manage tee time reservations, greet and assist members with check-ins, and provide seamless golf shop coverage to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. Foster a welcoming environment for all members and guests, ensuring that each interaction reflects the club’s commitment to excellence.
2. Provide Personalized Golf Instruction: Offer individual and group lessons tailored to players of all skill levels, utilizing the latest techniques and methodologies. Create an encouraging learning atmosphere that emphasizes improvement, enjoyment, and camaraderie, ensuring every lesson aligns with the distinguished reputation for quality.
3. Coordinate and Execute Member Tournaments and Events: Play a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and executing member golf tournaments, social events, and golf clinics. Work closely with the Head Golf Professional and Golf Operations team to ensure flawless event execution, enhancing the member experience while upholding the club’s tradition of excellence.
4. Conduct Professional Club Fittings and Promote Sales: Utilize advanced fitting tools and techniques to provide members with personalized equipment recommendations. Drive the sales of golf merchandise and equipment by creating tailored recommendations, fostering a retail environment that exceeds members’ expectations.
5. Maintain a World-Class Golf Shop: Ensure the golf shop is meticulously organized, well-stocked, and visually appealing. Present new merchandise in a way that highlights quality and exclusivity, maintaining high standards of professionalism and excellence in presentation and customer service.
6. Exceed Member and Guest Expectations with Personalized Service: Provide anticipatory, exceptional service by addressing individual needs and ensuring each member feels valued. Foster meaningful connections with members, enhancing their overall club experience with warmth, attention to detail, and impeccable service.
7. Assist in Golf Equipment Rentals and Services: Efficiently manage the rental services for golf carts, clubs, and other equipment, ensuring that members have access to the best available gear for their round. Maintain an organized and readily accessible inventory to support seamless operations.
8. Uphold Club Standards and Safety Protocols: Enforce and uphold the high standards of conduct, including adherence to club rules, safety regulations, and operational procedures. Promote a respectful and professional atmosphere that aligns with the club’s prestigious reputation.
9. Stay Current with Industry Trends and Best Practices: Continuously update knowledge of USGA rules, emerging trends in golf instruction, and equipment technologies. Demonstrate a commitment to professional development by applying the latest practices to improve both personal performance and the member experience.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in golf operations or a similar setting.
PGA/LPGA membership or apprentice status preferred.
Strong knowledge of golf rules, tournament operations, club fitting and sales, and instruction.
Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service.
Experience managing golf events and member tournaments.
Proficient in Golf Genius and POS and tee sheet systems (e.g., Club Essential, ForeTees).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
Compensation:
$20.00 – $22.00 per hour.
