The iconic Hotel del Coronad o is looking for a  Banquet Houseperson to join the team ! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever. 

Located on Coronad o Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining. 

• Classification:  Full-Time

• Shift: Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

• Pay Rate:  The pay rates for this role is $19.60 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.

What will I be doing?
As our Set Up person in Banquets, you will be responsible for set-up, break down and cleaning of all banquet spaces and functions. Assisting guest in functions areas as needed.  Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Maintain cleanliness of banquet, meeting and conference areas to meet established cleanliness and quality standards
• Project a professional manner to guests and team members
• Assist back of house team when requested
• Able to lift and Push Banquet Equipment
• Assist with set ups to ensure department runs efficiently
• Manage the set up relating to Food and Beverage functions in a timely manner
• Lift/Pull/Push at least 40 pounds

What are we looking for?

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

• Basic knowledge of Meeting Rooms Set up, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
• Must posses strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in outdoor areas
• Be familiar with all events happening at the hotel
• Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism
