Education Manager for our Head Start program, you will lead the educational vision for the Western Slope while supporting program teams in San Luis Valley and Northern Colorado. Your work will directly shape the quality of services provided to children and ensure that parents are empowered as their child’s first and most important teacher.
In This Role, You Will - Manage all aspects of the education component areas in accordance with the Head Start Act, Head Start Performance Standards, and early childhood education best practices.
- Provide education oversight, training, mentoring, and technical expertise in support of area managers in San Luis Valley and Northern Colorado, education specialists, coaches and teachers.
- Conduct site visits as needed to perform observations, provide ongoing monitoring, and provide reports/recommendations to the area manager and Head Start director.
- Evaluate, select and implement developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant curriculum, resources, and screening instruments.
- Review monthly Education Reports and follow up as needed.
- Utilize self-assessments, federal review results, child outcomes, current research and other sources of data to adapt instructional practices and curriculum development as appropriate.
- Work with education specialists and human resources to ensure education personnel meet Head Start credentialing requirements.
- Collaborate with community partners and other content area managers to provide educational services, assist in the transition of children into public school by establishing memoranda of understanding or contracts as necessary.
- Stay current with early childhood education field of knowledge, including TPOT-TPITOS, CLASS certification, curriculum assessments and screening instruments. Represent Centro in State Head Start Association Meetings.
- Assist with research and development of The Pyramid Model and basic education consistent with Head Start families’ needs assessment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Start director.

Let us build a brighter future together! Apply today! Requirements The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field, with emphasis or experience in special education, social work, or psychology.
Experience : At least three years of management and/or group process experience in an early childhood education setting.
Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
