Position Summary:
The Grant and Database/Research Specialist is responsible for managing institutional grant writing and reporting, overseeing donor database systems, and conducting research to support fundraising, alumni relations, and institutional advancement. This role ensures data integrity, supports prospect development, and contributes to fundraising strategies through data-driven insights.
Grant Management:
Research, write, and submit grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government entities.
Track grant application progress and deadlines; ensure timely submissions and reporting.
Prepare budgets, supporting documents, and reports for awarded grants.
Maintain organized records of grant applications, agreements, and compliance requirements.
Database Administration:
Manage and maintain the donor database (DonorPerfect), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality of records.
Enter and update donor and gift information, and generate acknowledgment letters and reports.
Develop queries, mailing lists, and dashboards for fundraising campaigns and reports.
Prospect Research and Reporting:
Conduct research on prospective donors, alumni, foundations, and corporate partners.
Analyze giving patterns and donor engagement to identify trends and opportunities.
Provide donor profiles and research briefs for leadership and development staff.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and/or related experience.
Minimum of three years-experience with grant development and database management, preferably Donor Perfect.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal, corporate, foundation and/or other professional granting/funding sources.
Demonstrated knowledge of granting/funding sources and application processes.
Demonstrated ability to listen and develop information into grant/funding applications.
Demonstrated proficiency in computing and using software including grant databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated knowledge of general bookkeeping or accounting.
Experience in analyzing, organizing, and presenting data in specialized reports.
