Overview
A law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support its Land Use and Real Estate practice. This role provides administrative and legal support to attorneys handling zoning, development, permitting, and real estate transactions. The ideal candidate is organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare, revise, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and filings related to land use, zoning, and real estate matters
Assist with permit applications, zoning submissions, and municipal filings
Coordinate with municipalities, planning commissions, title companies, and clients
Manage calendars, deadlines, hearings, and meeting schedules
Maintain electronic and physical client files and case documentation
Perform general administrative support including phone coverage, filing, and document management
Track project status and ensure compliance with regulatory timelines
Qualifications
1–3+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal (real estate or land use experience preferred)
Familiarity with zoning, land development, or real estate transactions is a plus
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems
Ability to work independently while supporting multiple attorneys
