About the Role
The Maintenance Manager position is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the electrical and mechanical maintenance operations at a heavy industrial manufacturing facility. This role ensures the reliability and efficiency of large rotating equipment, such as kilns and raw mills, and plays a key part in minimizing downtime and maintaining optimal plant performance. Ideal for candidates with a background in engineering and maintenance management within the cement or related industries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the plant maintenance department, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations

  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for heavy industrial machinery

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of large rotating equipment, including kilns and raw mills

  • Manage maintenance scheduling, workforce planning, and equipment reliability initiatives

  • Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintenance best practices

  • Collaborate with other departments to support continuous improvement and production goals

  • Manage maintenance budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement of spare parts

  • Train and supervise maintenance staff and promote a culture of safety and accountability

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)

  • Minimum of 5 years of plant maintenance experience in electrical and mechanical systems

  • Experience with heavy industrial equipment, including rotating machinery such as kilns and raw mills

  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies

  • Proven leadership skills in managing maintenance teams

  • Working knowledge of maintenance management systems and tools

  • Understanding of workplace safety standards and compliance requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in cement plant operations or similar heavy process industry

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or certifications in maintenance management

  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)

  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma training

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to equipment reliability
