Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• 13-week contract assignment
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Must work three weekends out of every six-week schedule and every other holiday
• Required to float within skillset to other campus locations with 2-hour notice
• Float requirements include Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson (11 miles)
• Care for 41-bed medical/surgical unit with 1:4-5 patient ratio during day shift
• Patient population includes post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF patients
• Required skills include remote telemetry, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, catheter management, ostomy care, Heparin drips, blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
• Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Minimum 2 years strong Med/Surg experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Required certifications: Active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Associate degree or certificate in nursing required
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires
• Clinical interview required
• Three call-ins may result in termination
