Position Summary

Perform aquatic duties that include supervision of the waterslide.  Create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 16 years of
• Ability to obtain First Aid / CPR – AED for the Professional Rescuer within 60 days of hire date.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for operating the top of the water slides.
• Enforce water slide rules to ensure the safety of patrons.
• Ensure the safety of the patrons by enforcing the rules of the facility.  
• Able to demonstrate the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
• Follow all current YMCA facility rules and regulations.

Physical / Mental Requirements

• Must work under the supervision and direction of Aquatic Director and Lifeguards.
• Must be able to remain alert.
• Ability to make sound judgements.
• Ability to work closely with co‐workers.
• Must work around the general population.
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of
• Must share in the responsibility for the safety of all patrons while at the facility.
• Must be able to work in a climate of 65 degrees or higher with sometimes high humidity.
• Must be able to make decisions to assure safety in the Aquatics Department.
• Ability to communicate verbally, including projecting voice across distance in normal and loud situations.
• Ability to adapt to all situations and have an openness to change
• Adequate ability to hear noises and distinguish distress signals
