**About the Role**
Uber is looking for a Frontend / Web Engineer to join our Web Solutions team supporting a high-impact first party platform that powers over 80 websites across the Uber portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, marketing, design systems, and performance - ideal for someone who thrives on building thoughtful, scalable interfaces with measurable business impact.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----
1. Work within a contract-driven, client-server architecture (e.g., Fusion.js), integrating type-safe RPC or REST APIs and partnering with backend teams to define clean interfaces
2. Build and maintain internal tools and frameworks that empower teams across Brand, Web Experience, Web Engineering, and SEO
3. Develop performant, reusable UI components using **React** , **Node.js** , and **Go**
4. Collaborate closely with design and brand partners to ensure consistent, accessible, and on-brand user experiences
5. Contribute to technical decisions around architecture, scalability, and developer experience
6. Help drive initiatives that improve organic traffic, increase conversions and support Uber's growth and profitability goals
---- Basic Qualifications ----
1. 3-5 years of experience in front-end engineering
2. Strong proficiency with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript tooling
3. Experience building APIs and tooling with Node.js; familiarity with Go a strong plus
4. An eye for design systems, UX consistency, and developer ergonomics. You might've been called a design engineer in another org
5. Experience with instrumenting and debugging web analytics and eventing. Familiarity with observability tools like Kibana and Grafana
6. Familiarity with web performance, SEO principles, and accessibility best practices
7. Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
8. An exceptional team player with strong communication skills who is eager to learn and level-up their skills by working alongside other Uber Engineering teams
---- Preferred Qualifications ----
1. Experience with CMS platforms or internal publishing tools
2. Background in web frameworks at scale or multi-site architectures
3. Contributions to open-source UI libraries or tooling
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$140,000 per year - USD$156,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
