Arlo Washington DC is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to help lead back-of-house operations within a high-volume, multi-outlet hotel environment. This is a senior leadership position designed for a chef who thrives on structure, accountability, and execution—and who is ready to grow.

The Role
The Executive Sous Chef is the right hand to the Executive Chef, translating culinary vision into daily execution across restaurant service, events, banquets, and catering. This role carries real operational authority and visibility within the hotel.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily kitchen operations across restaurant, banquet, catering, and event service
• Execute high-volume service with consistency, quality, and discipline
• Support menu development, recipe documentation, and seasonal programming
• Manage BOH leadership: hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance
• Oversee food cost, labor cost, inventory, purchasing, and waste control
• Execute BEOs and large-scale events with precision
• Maintain SOPs, line checks, cleanliness standards, and inspection readiness
• Ensure full ServSafe, HACCP, and health department compliance
• Collaborate closely with F&B leadership, Events, Sales, and Hotel Operations

Who You Are
• 3+ years experience as an Executive Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef
• Background in hotel kitchens, multi-outlet operations, or banquets strongly preferred
• A calm, decisive leader who develops teams—not just manages shifts
• Financially aware, with a working understanding of P&Ls, food cost, and labor control
• Highly organized, systems-driven, and standards-focused
• Comfortable with flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
